Motivation and Talent
Hydrogen and oxygen are distinctly different elements,
but sometimes they combine to form water. Something similar
is true for motivation and talent.

Motivation is what we LIKE to do naturally. Talent is what
we DO well naturally. They can exist independently, but when
they combine, they create something special. They create
motivated talents.

People often are naturally good at something (talented), but it
just doesn’t turn them on. For example, Heather is good with
numbers, but she doesn’t go out of her way to find tasks calling
for that talent. Most people have such talents. But then there
are those talents that we really enjoy using. These are the
motivated talents, and this is where the magic is.

We use motivated talents every chance we get. Most of the time
we don’t even think about it. For example, Larry has a motivated
talent for conversation, and he naturally engages both friends and
strangers in dialog. He doesn’t consciously determine to do so;
it just happens. It’s natural and unforced. He enjoys it, and
he’s good at it. That’s the hallmark of a motivated talent.

Motivated talents tend to be irrepressible. They find expression.
In fact, if you’ve ever tried to stifle a motivated talent (either
yours or someone else’s) it probably felt like you were trying
to hold two dozen ping pong balls under water at the same time.
Motivated talents pop out, even if no one else is asking for them.
And doesn’t that make sense? After all, it’s what we do well
AND enjoy.

Write into columns what you do well
then what you like to do
start to look at the connections and find jobs
that fulfill the two that are connected.
One of the easier ways to narrrow down your best job possibilities
Next try temp work in a company that fits your criteria or do internships.
You have to find out if the environment is suitable.  Not all people are
your best fit.  Job might be right, but the people are not.  Follow your
gut not the appearance of logic.  Your gut will tell you yeah, or yeuk.
Do not ask a bunch of other people.  They do not know you deeply
they are not you, they will sometimes unwittingly steer you wrong because
of jealousy and being passed by.  Some friends need to be kept at a distance.

Remember you should have an A list, b, c and d and F list of people.
The ones whom are A, keep them close, the rest keep at a distance.
So many times people in their need to connect make wrong connections
that ultimately derail them from their purpose and goals.  Including family.

Your family is not always meant to be your supporters, but those you learn
how to overcome adversity and patience.

Never throw anyone away, just reassign them in your hierarchy.

Your greatest tragedgy can be your grandest triumph.

Your only failure is in not trying and getting in there to begin with
Your success will be determined by how you frame the situation.

Your attitude is what will determine this framing and which way
your choices will take you.  Toward your goals or down the toilet.

You ARE in charge.  Do you give your power away?  Do you gently
evaluate or do you bash yourself and others?

Pro active or re active that is the question.
It is never the answer you seek, it is the proper question.
Ask the right question your answer is there.

Good luck
